Bridgewater has no town curbside trash pickup, so anything too big for your hauler's cart is yours to drive to the transfer station on Bedford Street, with a sticker, a check and a vehicle big enough to carry it. Count On Me! does junk removal in Bridgewater MA from our home base in Assonet, straight up Route 24. Send a photo or book a free on-site estimate. You get the price first; we carry everything out, load it and sort what Massachusetts won't let anyone throw away.
What Bridgewater homes need hauled
Bridgewater is mostly single-family houses (about 61% of homes on the Assessor's 2017 count), plus a real share of condos (about 11%). Roughly 18% of homes were built before 1939, and the biggest building decade was the 1970s, at about 21%. Older houses mean attics and basements with steep, narrow stairs; 1970s houses mean fifty years of storage. Estate cleanouts here are usually both: a full house, emptied before a sale.
The garage is where most jobs start: old mowers, a dead snowblower, a treadmill, a chest freezer, the kids' furniture. The transfer station charges item by item for most of that and refuses some of it, so one cleanout visit usually beats four trips in the car.
Bridgewater is also a university town. Bridgewater State sits in the middle of it, and rentals turn over. Landlords call us when a unit empties and the last tenant left the couch, the mattress and a pile of bags.

The Bridgewater transfer station, bulky items and when to call a hauler
The Town of Bridgewater does not offer curbside trash pickup: you hire a private hauler or use the Transfer Station at 1200 Bedford Street. That takes a vehicle sticker ($50 a year, $25 for residents 65 and over, or a $15 day pass), payment by check or money order only, and a visit on a day it's open (it's closed Wednesday and Thursday). Bulky items are charged one by one: a loveseat runs $40 to $60, a couch $50 to $75, a sectional up to $85, with carpets, heavy metal and other furniture priced by the superintendent.
Massachusetts bans mattresses and textiles from the trash (since November 1, 2022), along with appliances, TVs and monitors, and tires, so these are fee items too: a refrigerator goes in with the doors off for $25, and TVs, computers, mattresses and box springs each have their own line on the chart. We take all of them with the rest of the load and get each to the right recycling stream.
The station won't take asbestos, bricks, concrete, creosote railroad ties, dirt, rocks, stumps, hazardous waste, brush or leaves, and construction debris carries a $200 minimum from January 1, 2026. We don't take hazardous waste or asbestos either; ask the town about its household hazardous waste collection. For a remodel pile, one hauler visit usually beats the minimum plus the loading.
What junk removal costs in Bridgewater
The price follows the load: how much space it takes in the truck, how heavy it is, how far we carry it, and whether it includes items that cost more to dispose of in Massachusetts, like mattresses, TVs and refrigerators. Bridgewater junk removal questions
Does Bridgewater have bulk item pickup?
No. The Town of Bridgewater has no curbside trash service, so there is no town bulk pickup. You can ask your private hauler what they take, or bring items to the Transfer Station at 1200 Bedford Street with a sticker and pay a fee for each one, by check or money order. A couch alone is $50 to $75 there. We carry it out and haul it for you, priced up front.
How do I get rid of a mattress in Bridgewater, MA?
Mattresses can't go in the trash anywhere in Massachusetts since November 2022; they have to be recycled. In Bridgewater you can bring one to the transfer station with your sticker and pay its fee (call the station for the current charge), or have us take it. We carry mattresses and box springs out with the rest of your load and deliver them for recycling.
Will the Bridgewater transfer station take construction debris?
Some, priced by the superintendent, with a $200 minimum from January 1, 2026. It won't take bricks, concrete, rocks, dirt, stumps, asbestos or creosote railroad ties. We pick up remodel debris like old cabinets, carpet and drywall, and sort what Massachusetts requires to be recycled. We don't take asbestos or hazardous materials.
How much does junk removal cost in Bridgewater?
It depends on how much truck space your items take, how heavy they are, how far we carry them (stairs, a long driveway), and whether they cost more to dispose of in Massachusetts, like mattresses, TVs, refrigerators and tires. Send a photo or book a free on-site estimate and you get an exact price before any work starts.
Can you clear out a rental near Bridgewater State before the next tenant?
Yes. Landlords and property managers use us for move-out cleanouts: furniture, mattresses, bags and whatever ended up in the basement. Send photos of each room and the date the new lease starts. Same-day pickup when the schedule has room; for a set turnover date, book early and we plan around it.
