A closing moved up. A tenant left early and the new one arrives Saturday. The new couch is being delivered this afternoon and the old one is still in the living room. That's when people look for same-day junk removal in southeastern MA. Count On Me! is a family-owned business based in Assonet, licensed and insured, with 5+ years hauling junk on the South Shore. Call or text a photo, get an exact price, and when the schedule has room we come the same day and take it all.

How same-day junk removal works with us

Same-day means we pick up the day you call, when the schedule has room. We don't guarantee it, because a day that starts open can fill by mid-morning. You'll get a straight answer about whether today works, and if it doesn't, the next opening and the price, so you can plan around it.

Speed starts with the photo. A clear picture of everything that's going, plus the town and where it sits (basement, third floor, back of the yard), lets us price the job without a visit. Once you say yes, it goes on the schedule. Big or unusual jobs may need a free on-site estimate first, which can push the pickup to the next opening.

Single items and one-load jobs fit best: a couch, a mattress, a washer, an old treadmill, a room or a garage bay, the leftovers of a move, a curb pile the town won't take. Whole-house estate cleanouts, hoarder cleanouts and big construction debris jobs usually need a planned day, and we'll tell you that up front rather than rush them.

What this covers

  • Single-item same-day pickups
  • Move-out leftovers before a lease ends or a closing
  • Landlord turnovers between tenants
  • Bulky items and curb piles the town won't collect
  • Garage, basement or shed clear-outs that fit in one load
  • Old furniture out before the new delivery arrives
  • Office furniture before a move or a new install

What’s included

  • A free price from your photos
  • An exact price before any work starts
  • A straight answer on today versus the next opening
  • All the lifting, carrying and loading
  • Hauling, disposal and recycling
  • A sweep of the area we cleared

Does same-day junk removal cost more?

Your price is built the same way whatever day we come: how much truck space the load fills, how heavy it is, how hard it is to reach, and whether it includes items that cost more to dispose of in Massachusetts, such as mattresses, TVs and screens, fridges and air conditioners with refrigerant, and tires.

What keeps a same-day job on track is information. Mention the heavy and awkward things up front: a sleeper sofa, a chest freezer, a pile of shingles. Tell us about stairs, a long carry or a tight driveway. The closer your photos are to the real job, the closer the price is, and the less chance of a surprise once we're there.

You can lower the price by sending everything in one go so it's one trip, and by grouping smaller items in one spot if that's easy and safe for you. The estimate is free and there's no obligation.

Why same-day pickup matters around Fall River, New Bedford, Taunton and the Cape

Town trash programs aren't built for today. In Freetown, curbside pickup takes town trash bags under 50 pounds, so a mattress or a recliner doesn't qualify. Towns around here handle bulky items by appointment, sticker or transfer station permit, and the appointment is usually not the day you need it. Massachusetts also bans mattresses, appliances, picture-tube TVs, metal and textiles from the trash, so they can't go out with the weekly bags. A hauler who sorts the load is the fastest legal way to get them gone.

Location helps. We're based in Assonet, where Route 24 has three exits and Route 140 runs through East Freetown. That puts Fall River, Taunton and New Bedford a short drive away, and keeps Lakeville, Middleboro, Bridgewater, Brockton, Plymouth, Cape Cod and Rhode Island within reach for a same-day pickup when the day allows. The farther the job, the more it helps to call early.

The deadlines that call for today are real ones. A closing or an estate sale on a date someone else set. A landlord turning over a unit in a Fall River triple-decker before the next tenant's moving truck shows up. A Cape Cod rental that has to be cleared between bookings. A new fridge being delivered, with the old one still plugged in. In each case the junk has a deadline, not just a location.

Same-day doesn't mean skipping the rules. Mattresses still go to a recycler, appliances and metal still go to recycling, and on a Rhode Island job Rhode Island's rules apply. Fast and done right are the same job.

How it works

  1. 1

    Call or text early

Reach us as early in the day as you can. Say what's going, the town and where it sits in the house or on the property.

  2. 2

    Send photos

A few photos let us price the job without a visit, which is what makes a same-day pickup possible.

  3. 3

Get the price and the time

You get an exact price before any work begins, and a straight answer on whether today has room or when the next opening is.

  4. 4

    We arrive and lift

We carry everything out from wherever it is and load the truck. You don't need to stage anything at the curb.

  5. 5

    Sorted and gone

We sweep the cleared area. Metal, appliances, mattresses and anything reusable get sorted for recycling or donation; the rest is disposed of properly.

Same-Day Junk Removal questions

Can I get same-day junk removal in Fall River or Taunton?

Often, yes. Fall River and Taunton are close to our base in Assonet, so they're among the easiest places to fit a same-day pickup. It still depends on the day's schedule, so call or text as early as you can with photos of what's going. You'll get an exact price and a straight answer on whether today works or when the next opening is.

Is same-day junk removal guaranteed?

No. Same-day pickup depends on how full the schedule is when you reach us, and we'd rather tell you that honestly than promise a time we can't keep. The earlier in the day you call, and the smaller the job, the better the chance. If today is full, you'll get the next opening and the price up front so you can plan.

How fast can you give me a price?

As soon as we see good photos. Show everything that's going, from a couple of angles, and tell us the town, the floor and how far the truck can park from the door. That's usually enough for an exact price without a visit. Bigger or unusual jobs may need a free on-site estimate, which takes longer but still costs nothing.

What should I do before you arrive?

Nothing heavy. Mark or set aside anything that stays, empty drawers and fridges if you can, and make sure we can park close to the door. If a pet will be loose, keep it in another room. You don't need to carry anything to the curb or the driveway; we go to wherever the junk sits and bring it out ourselves.

Can you take a mattress the same day in Massachusetts?

Yes, when the schedule has room. Since November 1, 2022, Massachusetts has banned mattresses from disposal, so a mattress can't go out with the trash; it has to go to recycling. We take it to be recycled. Mattresses cost more to dispose of than most items, so mention each mattress and box spring when you send photos and the price will reflect it.

Do you do same-day pickups on Cape Cod or in Rhode Island?

Yes, when the day allows. Cape Cod and Rhode Island are both in our service area, but they're a longer drive from Assonet than Fall River or Taunton, so an early call makes a real difference. Send photos and the address first thing, and you'll hear whether today works or get the soonest opening.
