Plymouth doesn't pick up trash at the curb: you sign a contract with a private hauler, or buy a permit for the Manomet Transfer Station on Beaver Dam Road and bring it yourself. Big items go next door to a separate pay-by-weight facility. Count On Me! does junk removal in Plymouth MA, out Route 44 from our base in Assonet. Text a photo or book a free on-site estimate, get an exact price first, and we carry it out, load it and sort what Massachusetts won't let anyone throw away.

Plymouth is big, spread out and full of storage

Plymouth covers 134 square miles, with five historic villages, a newer planned village, large ponds and Myles Standish State Forest in between. About 72% of homes are single-family detached houses, and the biggest building decade was the 1970s (about 21% of homes), with subdivisions spread through West and South Plymouth. Those houses have two-car garages and full basements that have been filling up for decades. A garage cleanout in Plymouth is usually mowers, bikes, tools, old patio furniture and a freezer that quit years ago.

Plymouth has seasonal residents too, enough that the town sells 30-day and 120-day seasonal transfer station passes, and seaside Manomet is one of its villages. When a summer place changes hands or gets emptied at the end of a season, the owner is often a few hours away and has no truck. We clear cottages and summer houses, estate cleanouts included.

Big lots also mean big backyard items: hot tubs, above-ground pools, swing sets, sheds and old decks. We tear out and haul non-structural items like these as light demolition, so the yard is clear and the debris is gone in one visit.

Junk removal services in Plymouth

Manomet, the pay-by-weight facility and what Plymouth won't take

The Town of Plymouth has no town curbside trash service. Residents either contract with a licensed private hauler or buy a permit for the Manomet Transfer Station at 350 Beaver Dam Road: $190 for a full year for FY2027, $60 for recycling only, or $30 and $85 for 30- and 120-day seasonal passes. Permits are for residential property owners and year-round tenants, household trash goes in orange town bags, and a vehicle that isn't enrolled gets a $100 violation. Manomet is closed Wednesday and Thursday and takes check or money order only.

Furniture, carpet, toilets, sinks, roofing, construction debris and other bulky items don't go into Manomet's compactor. They go to the Difficult to Manage facility next door, run by Republic Services, where you pay by weight. Mattresses and box springs cost the weight charge plus $75 each there (Massachusetts has banned mattresses and textiles from the trash since November 1, 2022). At Manomet, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers carry a $20 refrigerant fee, TVs and computer monitors $15, and washers, dryers, stoves and dishwashers $10.

Manomet does not take brush, tree branches, tree stumps, asbestos or commercial waste. Paint thinner, gasoline, pesticides and other chemicals go to the town's household hazardous waste collections, held twice a year with the South Shore Recycling Cooperative (registration required). We don't take hazardous waste, asbestos or stumps either. Everything else, from a single couch to a full house, we carry out and haul, so you skip the permit, the scale and the trips.

What junk removal costs in Plymouth

The price follows the load: how much space it takes in the truck, how heavy it is, how far we carry it, and whether it includes items that cost more to dispose of in Massachusetts, like mattresses, TVs and refrigerators. Send a photo or book a free on-site estimate and you get the exact price before we start. How pricing works.

Plymouth junk removal questions

Does Plymouth have bulk trash pickup?

No. The Town of Plymouth doesn't collect trash at the curb. Residents use a private hauler or take items themselves: household trash to the Manomet Transfer Station with a town permit, bulky items like furniture and carpet to the Difficult to Manage facility next door, where you pay by weight. We come to your house, carry the items out and haul them, priced before we start.

How do I get rid of a mattress in Plymouth, MA?

Mattresses can't go in the trash in Massachusetts. In Plymouth they go to the Difficult to Manage facility next to the Manomet Transfer Station, at the weight charge plus $75 each for a mattress or box spring. Or have us take it: we carry mattresses and box springs out with the rest of your load and deliver them for recycling.

How much does junk removal cost in Plymouth?

It depends on volume (how much of the truck it fills), weight, access (stairs, a long carry, a tight cottage lot) and items that cost more to dispose of in Massachusetts: mattresses, TVs and screens, refrigerators and ACs with refrigerant, and tires. Send a photo or book a free on-site estimate. You get an exact price before any work starts.

Can you remove a hot tub or an old shed in Plymouth?

Yes. Hot tubs, sheds, decks, fences and playsets are light demolition: we take them apart, carry the pieces out and haul them, then clean up the area. It's non-structural work only, and we don't handle asbestos or anything that needs a structural permit. Send a photo and tell us how close the truck can get to it.

Can you clean out a Plymouth summer house if I'm not there?

Send photos of each room and tell us what stays, and we'll price it from those and talk through access with you. It helps when the owner is a few hours away, or when a seasonal pass for Manomet doesn't make sense for one cleanout.
